Vintage Beauty

This home is a striking example of the Queen Anne style of architecture and is
one of the finest in the province. It was constructed in 1894 for David Stodders,
a pioneer grain merchant. The house is most closely associated with the Currie
family, who were well known in Morden, but was also home to the Hector
McConnell family, the Pottruff family and others.
The house is a virtual textbook example of the Queen Anne style, with its striking
tower, iron cresting, detailed woodwork, variety of materials and picturesque
roofline. Brick for the house was manufactured locally at the MacGregor
brickyard.
In 1995 the house was the subject of a careful restoration that has brought it
back to its former glory.
