Immediately I saw this on In Rust group I knew it was a Wayne shot. The colour, the detail and the superb composition all said it was yours. :D

Beautiful and evocative prairie scene!

Sometimes I miss that real summer weather (grew up in Sask until I was 12 and then went to hs there as well!) I've been a BCer more or less since 1967 though and sometimes the famous precipitation really gets to me! :D

I grew up in Thunder Bay but moved to Brandon in 1974 (first real job). I have lived all of my working life in Manitoba. I find that now the prairie is in my blood. I like the mountains, but I need to see the horizon or I don't feel at home.

I can relate to that! I solve it by looking at the Pacific from time to time - cuz I'm actually around 40 minutes by bus from the closest place to view it! :D

Yes
It looks like a Conestoga Wagon without the White top
So many cowboy movies with these things in them

in the reading I have done, I am not so sure. Apparently, the back and front of a conestoga are supposed to be higher than the centre. This one does not fir that description or the images I have seen, so really Brian, I don't know and I am not knowledgeable enough on the subject.

It just reminded me of it
I was fairly sure it wasn't an original one

But still a VERY Western image;)

yes me too, it is still pretty old, harkening back to the horse and buggy days, probably late 1800's, just not the romance of the conestoga original. But we can still pretend Brian... at least that is what I intend to do. :D

I have begun to study the sky more and more from a colour perspective. Today it had magenta in it.

The sky is always a good theme to study and usually has a deep impact on the explorer.

Big sky country for sure. Is this an old Conestoga without the canvas top?

I don't know Anj, for me, it is just an old wagon that I pass four times a week.

That's probably all it is. It would be stretching it to think a Conestoga survived this long.

you know anj, I have no idea, you are probably right, one has not survived, but then again.... we can all dream and dreaming that is one did survive would harm nothing.
