I came across this scene in the late summer and decided to use it for Remembrance Day. --- For Benjamin 1922-1946

I do not often update a submission, but one of the best Canadian Story Tellers, Stuart McLean just finished hos Sunday Broadcast. The topic was remembrance/veterans day. You can get the podcast at this link. [link] Look for file vynlcafe_20111112_65201.MP3

This story is of interest to me as a photographer because it talks about the ability of the past to speak to us, here in the present. As you know my work is very much about the past, and its ability to speak into our present. This is a wonderful story, and you may need to listen to the full podcast, or fast forward to hear it, but I assure you it will be well worth the effort.

I like the colors and perspective in this photo. It makes it so much more than just a simple picture. It truly manages to tell a story.

I also like the framing and the symbolism of an empty cross with some ripped of clothes on it. It goes very well with the title.

I hope to see more of your works. Keep up! :D
