For Hoyt

Prairie Dog Central [link] Ride the Past

Taken with an Mamiya 645 in about 1993. (Which makes that little guy being held in the picture about 20 years old.) At the time this pictures was taken, passengers still boarded from the Polo Park area of Winnipeg. Today the train no longer comes into the city, but is well situated and easily accessible, just beyond the North Perimeter Highway.

This is closer to what the trains looked like when I was a youngster. It brings back memories. Thanks.

I think these old trains are really impressive. I don't remember steam days, though my dad, who was a railroader, does.

I think steam engines are a bit before my time, but when I was a kid, the engines certainly weren't as streamlined as they are now. Also, trains always had cabooses at their ends.
