Description

The winter In Manitoba has been one of the longest and coldest in a century.  It is now past the middle of May, and the farmers are just beginning to seed.  Which may make the harvest somewhat later that we are accustomed, to unless the weather warms up considerably.

From the weather reports I have heard, we are still getting snow falls about 100 km north of our location.  Nothing last long of course, but the harvest and livelihoods of thousands of people could be affected.  In a way, it is an exciting time to live, to observe the changes in the weather and to see the impacts on our world.  To me it seems obvious that nature is in flux, we may dispute the reasons, but we cannot, unless out heads are buried in sand, not notice the changes.  a the same time, the power that nature is displaying can also create a sense of fear or anxiety.  Weather in Manitoba has long followed a gentile patter with a few violent blips. Of late that predictability has shifted, as it has in so many parts of the world and the numbers of violent blips seem to increase in frequency and power.

I did not really intend this submission to be about climate change, but it seems to have developed that way.  I suppose we shall let the muse have her way.

The title can be interpreted in a variety of ways, as it could refer to the snow (weather) or the trees.   You can decide which fits better for yourself.
