Lament Of The Land

I cannot wait
for spring to come
and life again
to grow

I cannot wait
to feel the sun
and let it stir
my soul

I cannot wait
to smell the grass
within the land
of plenty

I cannot wait
for seeds to grow
and fill the horn
of bounty

I cannot wait
to for hay to fall
and take a breath
of heaven

I cannot wait,
But this I know:
spring will bring
profusion.
