Winter has come very gently this year on the Manitoba Prairie, no big storms have announced the arrival, and while the temperatures have steadily dropped below freezing, the snow levels have been light. It has been a very delightful change from past winters.

I have met the owner, and have taken a couple of shots inside. It is not in great shape, but it could probably be refurbished if someone takes it on in the next couple of years. The left hand lower window is broken, so it is open to weather.

Did the property owner give you any historical pointers about this house?

When it was built, who used to live there, when/why it was abandoned, etc.?

Those are questions that surge through my brain whenever I explore abandoned houses.

wow... 17º I would love to be there again.

My family originated in Udine area. My brother is doing research and learned that my grandfather came to New York when he was 13 in 1914. We still do not know how he ended up in Canada.
