FARGO

Description

While taking pictures on this yard, I met a very interesting farmer and had a long visit.

One of the concerns he highlighted was vandalism to old vehicles like this. While I had not run across it up until that point myself, a couple of weeks later I went back to another vehicle that I have photographed a few months ago. When I got there, I discovered that someone had broken the headlights and the windshield. Because of this foolishness, a well preserved old vehicle is not totally open to the elements, and will likely deteriorate very quickly. I will post a couple of images of this vandalized vehicle in the next few weeks.

Maybe you already know this, but preservation of abandoned cars as this one also depends a lot on where they are. A car left behind in the Chilean coastal city of Vina del Mar wouldn't be in this condition in 20 years of neglect, unlike one at a desert.

I remember living at the coast when I was a kid, near that city I mentioned above, and kind of spend some time getting my bicycle sand down at the end of the 1990's, early 2000's due how nasty the salty, humid enviroment was for everything that wasn't stainless.
