Beside An Iron Horse by WayneBenedet Beside An Iron Horse by WayneBenedet
Sometimes you take a picture and at the time you think it will never be processed because the light is so poor. Then this happens.

As a photographer myself I can vouch about the same problem; “Is this shot really going to turn out at all?” And presto! Hey, you never know what you're going to get.

Great photograph!:)

This is a really good shot... the composition is really nice, and I love how the colours still manage to be eye-catching, even with the overcast lighting. Very nicely done!

I love this one. There is such a rustic look about it. As you said, sometimes one does not realize how special a shot is until later.

I think that sometimes, the things that we believe will work against us, actually turn out to be in our favour. That is true with this picture, but I also believe it is often true in life, and it depends, to a great degree on how we look at things.

You are absolutely right Wayne, our perspective on everything in life affects us in all that we do. I try to have a very positive attitude. Failure and negativity are not in my vocabulary. Your gallery is superb and it is always a pleasure to discover new photos to enjoy.

I'm continually amazed by the lighting you capture. Do you have a lot of stormy days where you live?

Actually we have more sun that clouds, but I do seem to be caught in some kind of a cloudy day cycle.

thanks Frank,

I am not sure what it is about this shot, but I do remember thinking that I would never be able to process it because of the dynamic range. However, I was there at the time and would not be back, so it was now or never. Maybe by processing skills, or the risks I was prepared to take with unconventional processing is what made the difference.

That's a cool shot. The lighting turned out real well. Like the clouds. It adds to the overall mood of the picture. Nice shot.

I had to under expose to maintain cloud detail, then I processed to retain the shadows, All in all I rather like the effect.

nice. love the sky looks you were about to get wet. The house looks like it is about move in ready. Am I mistaken or is that a rail line in the back?

:iconwaynebenedet:

thanks.

Yes there is an active rail line behind the house. I wonder about the history because I think the house is still in good shape, but has not been lived in for many years.

Is as close as it looks if it maybe that's the reason for leaving. I bet CN or CP own it now.
