Taking Better Pictures - FINAL

This is the final version of the second edition. It has been fully revised and edited, and a new appendix has been added with more advanced material. (My thanks to Cindy Minguez for editing)

I also thank the people here at dA who spent time offering suggestions and corrections.

Sales Gallery: The Untapped Source [link]

The Gallery at Deviant Art is the broadest collection of my work. It also provides information on shows, exhibits, workshops, and courses that I am offering in Southern Manitoba. If you are interested, please use the contact information on the poster or brochure.

The gallery is divided into folders. When you enter the gallery, the folders are displayed on the right side of the screen. The first is my ID folder. It contains information about displays of my work, as well as published news articles. The "Original Prints" Folder contains copies of one of a kind signed prints that have been sold, no other copies will be made available. The "Awards and Publications" folder contains images that have received public recognition or been used in the media.

The two folders below contain collections that have toured in Manitoba.

"An Olde Ride - Classics in the Rough" [link] is a solo collection that toured in Manitoba from 2008 to 2011. The show consisted of 33 pieces taken from the total collection. Information on the show and where it was displayed will be found on the left of the screen when you enter the folder/gallery. “An Olde Ride” is currently on “blocks” but came down in May 2012 to show at the Gerhard Ens Gallery, at the Mennonite Historical Village, Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada. One final show is being planned for Boissevain Manitoba, in March and April 2013. Following that event, the remaining original, signed, tour pieces will be sold. Additional copies will not be made.

“Voice of the Pioneer,” [link] is a new solo collection that began to tour Manitoba in the fall of 2011. The show dates and places are listed on the left of the screen after you enter the folder/gallery.

The Rural and Northern Juried Art Show selected pieces of my work in 2008, 2009 and 2010 to tour the province. This is a five month tour which includes Winnipeg, Carman, Holland, Portage and Morden.

My work has been recognized by the World Wide Gala Awards (WWGA) in Landscape and Rural Photography category.
In 2011 for "Beside Peaceful Waters"

and in 2012 for "Who Has Seen The Wind"

I teach photography courses at Red River College, Winkler Campus and lead workshops in a number of rural communities including Morden, Holland, Killarney, Virden, Manitou and Russell. These workshops, courses and excursions are published here on the front page. If you are interested, please use the contact information provided.
